1978 Ducati Daspa NCR 900<\/strong><\/p>\n

NCR was founded in 1967 in Borgo Panigale, the small Italian village commonly referred to as the traditional home Ducati. Being walking distance from Ducati, from the early 1970s NCR became the factory\u2019s semi-official race team and was at that time completely free to do and build whatever they choose.<\/p>\n

Arguably the most famous of all NCR creations is Mike Hailwood\u2019s 1978 TT wining bike. NCR supplied Sports Motorcycles two bikes, one for Mike and the other for team mate Roger Nicholls, and both incorporated Daspa-built frames and 864cc desmo engines, cleverly housed inside Ducati\u2019s beautiful round-case castings. In 1975 NCR used the production based 860 and 750 squarecase castings, with reworked cylinder heads; larger valves; higher-compression pistons; Lucas RITA ignition system; up-rated dry clutch; and a stronger gearbox. Carburation was Malossi-modified 41mm Dell’Orto\u2019s and these big desmo twins produced 90bhp at the rear wheel & recorded a top speed 149mph (240kph).<\/p>\n

In 2014 a 78 NCR Daspa 900 sold at Bonhams Las Vegas auction for over 243kAUD. This NCR Endurance racer is fully documented and has an excellent racing history. Beautifully restored the bike is located with our Italian agent and the advertised price excludes shipping.<\/p>\n
