50th<\/sup>\u00a0Anniversary Honda Monkey<\/strong><\/p>\n

Early 2017 Honda announced that at the end of August, the world\u2019s most famous 50cc minibike will finish its 50-year production run. In recognition of this incredible production Honda produced a final 50th anniversary special edition.<\/p>\n

The 50th anniversary Monkey is painfully nostalgic. It\u2019s finished in a two-tone red and white with a tartan seat that\u2019s a throwback to the classic 1967 Z50M. On the fuel tank there\u2019s an exclusive and ornate 50th anniversary crest on the fuel tank, as well as old school Honda wing emblems. And you don\u2019t even start it up with a regular key. Instead, there\u2019s a special 50th anniversary version.<\/p>\n

Chiaki Kato, president of Honda\u2019s motorcycle department, confirmed the Monkey\u2019s demise was yet another product the world wants, but the cardigans in Brussels signed its death warrant due to their draconian Euro emissions standards that Japan would have to adopt if they wanted to play in the big league. Kato-san added that even if they were to engineer the motor to compliance, stricter laws will go into effect in Japan in 2021, and as such, it was decided that it would be best to end the diminutive icon now.\u00a0\u201cAs it is a milestone of 50 years,\u201d Kato-san said, \u201cwe will end production and sales tearfully<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

This 50th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary Monkey is available in brand new condition, and has never had fuel in the tank. Located here in Coffs Harbour the bike is sold with all original books, battery and spare keys.<\/p>\n
