1968 Norton 750 Racer<\/strong><\/p>\n

This vintage Norton race bike was built by VBNR (Village Bike Norton Racing) in Australia and imported by Giannini Racing into the USA, to compete in the AHRMA top class \u2013 750GP. \u00a0Prior to its sale this bike was a regular top contender at the Phillip Island\u2019s Island Classic.<\/p>\n

This Norton racer has been built to the absolute legal limit of technical allowances, as permitted in the bike\u2019s 750GP racing class. It has an un-altered genuine Norton Manx featherbed frame, Roadholder forks, Girling shocks, and period correct wheels and brakes, notably, the Lockheed front brake calliper and correct Lockheed 5 fin Norton Manx rear calliper.<\/p>\n

The engine is a Commando-based 750cc that has undergone a no expense spared build to fully exploit the category allowances. Built specifications include custom billet crankcases, custom billet crankshaft, Cosworth connecting rods, high lift cam, titanium valves and valve retainers, extra heavy-duty valve springs and hi-compression pistons. The cylinder head is a work of art, consuming days of porting and valve angle reworking. Fuel is fed via period correct Concentric carburettors sporting enormous float bowls (in Australia this engine ran on alcohol, but it\u2019s been re-jetted since coming to America to run on race gas.) It had a special 5-speed gearbox, Norge belt drive and uses a Boyer ignition.<\/p>\n

This is a very rare motorcycle and could be raced or collected as a beautiful piece of history.<\/p>\n
