1982 Honda Motocompo\u00a0 SOLD 2021

The Honda Motocompo if a unique folding scooter produced between 1981 and 1983. Originally designed and introduced as a “Boot Bike” to fit inside Honda\u2019s range of hatch-backs (Civic, City, Today), the Motocompo was marketed in conjunction with the City\u2019s television ads featuring British ska\/2-tone band\u00a0Madness<\/a>. The Honda City\u2019s luggage, or hatch area, was actually developed around the Compo.<\/p>\n

Possibly the first Transformer, the Motocompo\u2019s handlebars, seat, and foot-pegs fold into the scooter’s rectangular plastic body to present a clean, box-shaped package of 1185 mm L \u00d7 240 mm W x 540 mm H. Despite a production of 53,369 Motocompo\u2019s by the end of production in 1983, very few have survived the test of time.<\/p>\n

Today the Motocompo holds almost cult status, with many celebrities and members of the \u2018cool elite\u2019 owning what little numbers have survived. This particular example is unrestored and in excellent OEM condition. Presently located at Raidermoto.com Coffs Harbour, NSW Australia.<\/p>\n
