1988 Honda Gorilla White Special<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Following on from the enormously successful Honda Z50 Monkey production, in 1978 the factory released its slightly larger brother and aptly called it the Gorilla. Whereas the Monkey was a fold-down design for loading into your boot\/trunk, the Gorilla was made for genuine use and sported a larger 9lt fuel tank & 4 speed gearbox with manual clutch.<\/p>\n

Like the Monkey, Honda terminated the Gorilla production in 2017 resulting in global demand of all models going into somewhat of a frenzy.\u00a0 Asking prices of the limited production builds, like this White Special from 1988, are already exceeding 650-700k yen in Japan, meaning this beautiful Gorilla is $1,000’s below the replacement cost.<\/p>\n

This example is in fabulous condition, original not restored, and only just over 200k’s use. There is minor surface corrosion on some of the chrome items, mainly guards, but all repairable. It still retains the original chrome front & rear carry racks and head light guard, and has the original tool kit. There is a small dent in the tank and the front carry rack has been scratched, but this and the other minor defects could be easily repaired if a collector wanted to ensure this bike was flawless.<\/p>\n

As the video displays, the engine is tight and as silent as you\u2019d expect for an almost brand new motor. A very rare find!<\/p>\n
