1992 Honda NSR250R SP Rothmans<\/strong><\/p>\n

Released in the late 80\u2019s the MC21 took the production 250 2-stroke racer world by storm, introducing new, much higher standards of production and forever changing the rulebook on how 250 stroker\u2019s should be built.<\/p>\n

The MC21 used Honda\u2019s exclusive PGM-III ECU that was used to great effect on the HRC factory 250GP & NSR race bikes. With input from the TPS and gear selector, the PGM controlled timing of the RC Valves, air correctors and ignition advance to produce previously unachievable torque down low while not losing any of that insane high-end high-revving HP that the screaming quarter litre 2-strokes were famous for producing. The PGM-III had individual ignition mapping for each of the 3 cylinders, something that was truly outrageous for the era.<\/p>\n

In their final production Honda released a limited run of 1500 SP\u2019s in Rothman\u2019s Race Replica paint schemes, and today these are seen as the Holy Grail of the entire NSR production. This bike has only just been secured in Japan so better photos will be made available in the near future.<\/p>\n
